Institutional History
Center of Cinematography, Arts and Television (CCAT) was founded in December 1993, when Jorge García and Jorge Fusaro, committed to the education and development of sciences, arts and television, bought the Ofelia D’Acosta Academy of Art, founded in 1979. That month, the Institution’s name was changed to Colegio de las Ciencias, Artes y Televisión, and it’s transfer to it’s new facilities in the Lot 15 Escorial Street in the Industrial Zone Mario Juliá of Caparra Heights in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico was realized. During the past years the CCAT has maintained a constant growth rate, in response to the market’s necessities and to the member’s of the community it serves.

In May 2002 the CCAT moved it’s operations to Bayamón, with the purpose to continue the growth and expansion plan of it’s academic offerings. The CCAT responds to a need for a specialized school that trains for those professions in which the individual requires to master sciences, arts and television, all of this with a solid social and humanistic basis.

In 2007 CCAT opens its first branch in the city of Miami, Florida with four programs under the name of Center of Cinema, Cinematography, Arts and Television.

Philosophy
The Institution provides the students with the opportunity to expose themselves to academic experiences that stimulate the student’s integral development and his creativity. This development will provide the students with the needed tools for them to effectively confront the technical, educational, social, economical and cultural challenges that characterize the modern era, in order for the students to be able to function in the society they live in.

Mission Statement
Center of Cinematography, Arts and Television (CCAT) is organized in response to the need to offer quality academic alternatives to train in the Communications area. With it’s humanistic base and with the philosophy principle that everyone deserves the opportunity to educate themselves in their area of choice, the CCAT provides youths and adults with the possibility to attend their courses in a professional atmosphere where the academic effort is based in the development of the students. This development that is persued by the CCAT, will provide it’s graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will allow them to successfully face the challenges of a constantly changing profession.
